Oh, this is a truely lovely story.
Very moving, tender, so funny in parts, very, very, very in character, with some superb banter, not to mention a lovely plot line. Sweet and loving without being overly-sweet.
I loved this little exchange:
"Okay, so just don't go spotting any crimes."
"I'll try, Ray."
So very 'them'. And the whole idea of Benny going through the people to whom he was going to give gifts and cards, and how Ray indulged his lover.
Excellent story - it has been duly saved in my DS story folder.
A really lovely read.

Aw, I love it! The best part is definitely that the characters and dialogue are perfect. Spot-on. Fraser's "Ah. My mistake." made me laugh out loud, because I could honestly see him saying it. The things they say, the things they do - it's all exactly true to character.
And hee! for Fraser making them go shopping in October. I wish all my shopping could get done in one day!
And the end! Very, very sweet. And those are great gift ideas, too. I can never write Christmas fics because I can never think of appropriate gift ideas. These were perfect.
