I loved this! So much gorgeous detail, and it really sounded like Ray, and this bit:
"At first it sounded the same, just a cascade of notes in no particular order, but after a while he started to hear patterns repeating themselves in the flow, like the geometry of light on water. They were different each time, just slightly, but by the end of a section it added up to something new, built out of notes and harmonies and history."
Just, wow. What a beautiful description.

Mmm, I liked this. The case-stuff was nicely canon and the sex was descriptive and hot. And this - the amber light turning everything gold for a split second that hung in the air like forever - was beauty.

Oh my goodness, I am ecstatic at the way this turned out. A bit of case related mystery, some brilliant descriptive phrasing, wonderful smut. It all coalesced into a stunning symphony.
I think my favorite part was the image of fully clothed wrist stroking in the closet at the symphony hall. All those amazing textures and colors -- just gorgeous.
